WCIL

After fixing several grass waterways  that they had designed and okayed the construction of we just do it ourselves.   Not worth dealing with all of their red tape and laziness.    One of the grass waterways was constructed across the road from our house.   My husband commented that it wasn't going to work...  We watched the water run along the edge of the grass for years until we bought it and fixed it.    Do you have to call in officials to survey and look for ancient Indian villages in Wisconsin.    Land that has been in crops for 100+ years and they go looking to see if they can find an arrowhead or a piece of pottery.    Now days many liberal arts colleges have started offering majors in environmental sciences.   We had a niece in one of those.   She came out to the farm to do some project.   Husband talked about:   the soil loss equation,   percent slope,   Highly erodible land,  no till,  strip till,   dry dams,  grass waterways and  drop boxes.   She had no idea what he was talking about.   He asked her what they were studying.    environmental theory.   I really wish he'd had a day to sit in that professor's class and educate him.    She was paying private school tuition for this  "education"  too.
