ryan elias - 3/17/2024 15:49 Waterton Lake/ park is awesome. Kinda out of the way though. You can take ski lifts up the mountain in the summer up around Banff somewhere. Not sure but maybe closer to Lake Louise. Glacier tour up onto Columbia ice fields https://www.banffjaspercollection.com/attractions/columbia-icefield/ All these places will be jam packed solid with people in the summer months.

Waterton Lakes Natl. Park is very nice and worth a stop, and it is right on the way from east Glacier up to Banff.
It works well when starting at Whitefish, and doing Glacier Park first.

If you do that maybe take the road that hugs east slope—-“forestry trunk road”—or some such—north past pincher creek—-nice drive, cow country, Ian Tyson ranch on that road—-make sure you’re about full of gas—and fill up on u.s. side——some Calgary hotels got dandy weekend deals—-usually stay @ international, can walk downtown—
