mercer county, il
I have cattle, and I graze my own stalks. I’m just saying, if you’re drylotting, like lots tend to ask about here, and you’re honest with your yardage costs (feeding, hauling manure etc) and paying for hay, or baling stalks and buying gluten or ddgs to supplement, etc those costs add up rapidly.

Let’s say over 60 days of grazing per cow, per acre (my usual average before moving), how much dry matter are they consuming? A ton-2500 lb I’m guessing?

Just in hay or purchased feed costs, if you can buy enough hay for $50-75/ton to feed a cow for 2 months, and run the machinery to feed them for that as well, and haul out the manure too?
