My son works for a fence builder and they won't even build farm fence anymore. Too much money in commercial jobs and high end residential. This is certainly not an affluent area but there are plenty of people who will pay $10,000 for a fancy aluminum backyard fence to hold there dogs or chickens so they can save on their egg bill. +100 I do the plumbing and Heating gig (limited as I get older). "What the market will bear" is this generations approach. Sad, but it is what it is. Get some one, from the city, to do a service call........and you will see the NEW price structures.
Edit to add. to the OP, when your writing the check to them, on the hood of you new super duty, be careful not to scratch the paint :)
