Subject: RE: Active Pneumatic vs Hydraulic down force

Leesburg, Ohio
The problem with furnishing you with "yield proof", is that I know of no one who has a planter set up with both hydraulic downforce on some rows, and pneumatic on some rows, and I can't think of another way to produce a valid test to compare yield between the two.
I suppose that would be a good research project, and in fact it may have been done in the Beck's PFA research.
I do know that they have done much work on planter attachments, and IIRC, they do have some data about down force.
They have a recommendation to use hydraulic down force, so they must have something backing that up...

We have seen a significant difference in stand and emergence...that can't be a bad thing....
