Subject: RE: Active Pneumatic vs Hydraulic down force

North Liberty and South Bend, Indiana
Well, that appears to be a bit of a debatable subject. Just reading several studies and one particular Fella said corn plants emerged upto 4 days after the first will not effect final yields as those late ones catch up by v4-v5. Next study by Ken Ferrie says anything after 48 hours is a weed and will effect final yield. So now the question is, who's correct and does even emergence mean more yield? And does the downforce system effect emergence? I have no personal proof one way or the other on any of the variables. I bet not a single grower here does. But several all but guarantee hydraulic downforce is worth the cost. If anyone has actual data on downforce systems by all means please share them.
