In 2013 we went from a 9560 to a S680 2012 with 100 hours. We also went from a 6 row corn head to a 12 row. 200 to 240 bushel corn. Loved it and still have it. At the time traded a 25 foot bean head for 30 foot. A S680 like your S780 has the power to handle a nondrapper heads slugs not feeding even. If I were you I would get the 12 row corn head first and the drapper second.
Well the main reason for a draper is cutting performance. We always have to stop cutting right before sundown because of pushing. Typically the beans will feed through for another couple of hours which some years we need. We aren’t going to be able to handle the corn off a 12 row right now is the reason for the 8. Did you find setting the 680 was comparable to setting the 9560 or better or worse?
