But I believe it is prudent to keep an open mind as to which way prices will go, since by the time the trend is clear, it will be too late to take preventative measures. We are all familiar with inflation, so it is hard to imagine anything else, not many remember what deflation looks like, myself included. So, I am going to hope for a return to normal ( inflation) and be prepared for the worst, deflation.
As for parts prices, while OEM's will continue to gouge their captive audience for parts for newer machinery, I keep being surprised with how cheap aftermarket parts are becoming as more of them are being manufactured overseas. |
