I think that's an excellent point. I thought the guys buying $4500 land were nuts. They certainly were taking a risk, but they have likely already sold it for a tidy profit and are waiting to buy at value prices (probably 2x the acres).
Eventually other investments will pick up and leave land in the dust - there is a possibility of folks dumping 5% returning land for 10% returning funds. With so much land in the hands of 'investors' with no tie (business or family), it's prime for things happening a big hurry (just like wallstreet). Of course to get there it's likely the economy is going to go through more pain. Poor, misguided government regulations will put a lid on any growth until a new political climate comes into power - can't wait for the words "there you go again...."
