My wife's cousin farmed over 4000 acres in Indiana with only one part time helper. Cousin, his wife, and part timer all had full time public jobs too. Mostly all no-till. I think it nearly cost a marriage before they gave up on farming and decided they could live on their day job salaries.
In the mid-south you would be very hard pressed to farm 1000 acres alone, so much more to do.
How many acres can one man do?
