| I wish fuel here was that cheap!! Last year fuel here (Sask. Canada) was about $4.80/GAL. With a tandem axle truck hauling about 550 BU getting say 7mpg going 10miles there 10 miles back that = 2.9GALX$4.80=$13.92/tripX15trips=$208.80 for the fuel. I still need drivers!!
I just used 10 miles as an example. What about 20 or 30 miles! Then you need more trucks/drivers cause you can't have combines waiting.
Bags can be used to store grain for a year or more or even only till harvest ends. Then you can take the time and empty them (after the mad rush of harvest) and haul it home if you wish.
It might not be for everyone....but I'm happy with it. | |
