Subject: Trailers, etc.

Hazelton, Kansas

Pat:

I bot the first 22 foot Jet new in 1996 or 1997 for about 8k. The second is a 1995 model bot in about 2006 for about 12k, including the used 1986 IH tractor. Both trailers are steel, but we don't haul in winter salt.

Our hauls are usually 20 miles or less. I'd like to find a good 30 to 34 footer for those times we go 90 miles, even though that is not very often.

The tractors both have 6 speed Fullers, and always seem to have at least one shot synchro. I think I would prefer an Allison, but have never had one.

Oh, my stretched twin screw is an old 4070 with a 8-71 Detroit, Hendrickson, and a steel box. That's why it weighs 22.5k.
