Subject: Re: In-bin drying temps?

Gerald, last year my son put up a bin in the corner of one of his fields. Bin has a centrigal fan which was placed on the backside of the bin to eliminate as much noise to the house across the road and to the west a little. Late last fall I was servicing the 4wd trctor & disc ripper in the field next to the house & the owner comes out to talk. Eventually he gets around to complaining about the moise from the fan and how soon we would be shutting it off. I knew the fan had been shut off so I asked if he could still hear it & he said yes. I took him across the road & around behind the bin & showed him the fan was off. What he was hearing was the vane axial fan from a bin over 1 1/2 miles south.
