Kansas | A French drain would only reduce the sump pump run time not elliminate the problem. The pond is artifically elevating the surface ground water. He would be better off draining the pond. Before he starts having foundation problems that cost significantly more the $100 bucks a month. What does he do for the sewer and water for his house? Good bet he reducing the life of the septic system and contaminating his private well.
