Saronville NE | Those high 50s per hr I was talkn about on the feed are 1400-1500 lb bales, not light weight things. When you 7.5-8mph and bascially takin 30ft of feed in, since it was vraked behind a 15' disc head, you are getting alot of tons an hr. I think the biggest secret to puttin those kind of bales an hr up, besides vrakin 2 windrows togther is have yr slip clutch as tight as you can keep it, and have enuff ponies in front of the baler to handle it, we bale with a 160 hp tractor and when pushing it it will bellar black smoke all the way thru the field. We tried baling with a 120 hp tractor this yr, but couldnt run very fast, and was workin that tractor to death, so went back to the big tractor. | |
