Glad your mom is doing ok, we had a IH 715 that use to do that regularly until we found a welder that could make it stronger than factory setup. factory forged axle was quite thin at the point of breakage so that is where he made it 'thicker'. don't know what type of rod he used. been holding well for 17 years, 600 acres per year.
