Does the $3000 for the omnistar receiver and $3995 for the radio also pay for a password to "unlock" this equipment for RTK, or is that extra?
Assuming you already have a waas only 500, to get to RTK you will need an onmistar upgrade($3000) plus an RTK upgrade($3000) plus the Sitenet radio($3995). So it will cost you $9995 total.
Also, if I had the omnistar receiver and the sitenet 900 radio for RTK, my understanding is I would still need to invest in a base station, or find a neighbor (or business entitiy) with a permanent base station and work out a deal/subscription to use their RTK base?
Yes, you would need your own base station, your neighbors base station, or subscribe to a local base station. The Sitenet radio in the above price cables into the 500 in the moving vehicle.
I currently run a 500 rtk and subscribe to a local rtk network. I am pleased with the performance. If you have additional questions on this setup let me know. |
