Ted is absolutely correct.  He knows what he is talking about.  The Insight only uses one speed distance source at a time.  If you are set to use GPS for speed then GPS is being used for distance also.  There is no calibration for GPS speed.  There are not pulses involved with GPS speed on the InSight.  You have 2 buttons on the configuration screen.  One is to choose the speed source, GPS, radar, or wheel.  The other is to enter the calibration number for radar or wheel.  Yes you can enter a calibration number for the radar, but there is NO calibration number for GPS speed.  If you choose GPS for speed, you can use radar as a backup incase the GPS signal is lost.  That is the reason you can enter a radar cal number when you select GPS as the speed source.  You can select GPS as the speed source and run the unit with no radar attached.  It will run just fine that way.
