Hoisington, KS | Here in Kansas I haven't heard of too many geothermal systems going in, but we're looking at building a new house and the contractor we've talked to swears by the wells instead of a field. I don't know how deep the lines are laid in a field layout over in Illinois, but I've heard that when you get into the middle of summer and it gets droughty, it doesn't cool too well. Our contractor is quoting four 180' deep wells and the price difference from the geothermal to the highest efficiency A/C-furnace is $10000. | |
