Subject: RE: Running multiple houses on geothermal field

East Central Illinois
It probably would work to have multiple house on one geo field, but I'm not sure it would make sense. As previously noted, their is a formula based the the load as to how big it needs to be. I would think the pumps would have to be bigger to cirulate the bigger loop. A geo thermal expect could probably tell you for sure. My local electrical co-op was a big help, and a great resource.

In my case, I have a 5 ton unit and 3 ton(split system for second floor) both on the same loop, so my "load" for the loops if figured on 8 tons. Lots of great geo info on the web also, good luck!
