Sunnyside, WA | We used Duflex tags for years, and just switched to Allflex about two years ago. Main difference was the prices we were paying for ordering the misc replacemetn tags for cows that lost the original tags. Been around some Z tags, too. I can't say any one brand is better than the other, but we've been happy with Allflex.
I just put in about 400 RFID buttons from Allflex, and if they are as hard to get out as they are to put in, it should be a nice improvement. We have also been putting two regular Allflex eartags and one RFID in all our our newborn calves for the last two months. One tag is the tamper proof tag similar to the RFID button, and the other tag is the standard eartag. It will be interesting to see if the tamper proof tag has better retention. | |
