Sucker brook, NY
i take it you dont drill your beans. does your combine have a straw chopper? have you tried to no-till your corn into bean stubble? ill be trying it on 35 or so acres next spring. we no-till drill all our beans into corn stubble, and have about the same rotation you have.
why is plowing the only way to go with corn on corn? too much volunteer?

im with you, quite a bullet to bite to find out it just dosent work up here. this winter i plan on modifying a lilliston cultivator to see if i cant get some kind of strip built. got trash wheels, going to set the baskets as agrressive as i can and use sheilds or disks to keep the soil in the row. i wont go over too much ground with it, just an experiment, mabie 100 acres. ive also thought about using an old planter for the parrell linkage for the depth like what jim mentioned. thing is, how much building will it take to get an inferior or mediocre or perfect machine, youll need to cut your losses somewhere.

good luck and keep us posted.
