I don't think very many farmers are going to continue to throw money away. Maybe in the past we could plant cheap soybean seed and expect to cover our costs or only lose a little bit plus our time. Now the seed cost is high enough that its not worth it to plant beans when it gets very late in this area. The few that do double crop are usually doing it after peas, and some years even those guys decided not to plant beans afterwards if it was too dry.
