Mt. Airy, NC
Triticale 815 has been our small grain silage for 5 or 6 years. Planted the first of Oct. and harvested in boot stage or flag leaf if I can get it, usually around the 3rd week of April in North Carolina. Works great for us. Feed all cows about 20lbs year round and it makes up about 80% of our heifer rations. After we harvest we apply manure let the land dry and then plant full season (117 day) corn silage right behind it. We double almost all our land this way. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. [email protected]
