hey dairy guys, ration question...how much corn silage are you feeding per cow/ day?

Also I forgot to add is when you depend more on 1 forage you are really putting your eggs in one basket. It used to be thought we had a big window to put up quality corn silage but we have learned that timing is critical for putting up quality corn silage. Get bad weather and get set back 2 weeks you are going to stuck with a lot of lower quality corn silage. With the system we use for haylage we cut one day and put it all up the next day, 400 acres that is. Then we have 4 cuttings spreading our risk out more.
