Age definitely isn't everything, if it is a narrow pelvis short one for instance never is the answer. WE bred one at 11 months and that didn't work out so well and she wasn't small but still didn't develop enough by calving and of course the AI took so she calved at 20 months. That said 13+ and some common sense on the frame of her will work fine. Most of ours are in the 14-15 month range with a few in the 13 month category.

I think the best marker is to aim for 60%-65% of the mature weight. We do that and consistently get 96% or better conception in 60 days with just over 60% take on the AI's.
