The genetic base of horned herefords its much deeper than the polls. You have to realize the polled herfs didn't come along until 50 years ago and that was from a mutation in the horned breed. Don't get me wrong theres a lot of nice polled herf bulls out there. Ron Schutte in Guide Rock NE raises some real good cattle. His cattle are raised with the intent to sire beef cattle, sad to say the steer jocks have really latched on to the polled herfs lately and that's sad.
