Stratton, Ontario, Canada | Horned bulls fight A LOT less. No maintenance on the horns unless they grow into their head. I have tipped and weighted them. I prefer weights, no fighting with the animal and they do a very nice job. I won't buy the argument that sharp horns make for more aggressive bulls. That's an attitude problem, not due to the horns. If your not going to weight them down, don't leave the tips on...that's spelling trouble for anything, man or beast.
Horned Herefords sire more consistent calf crops than Polled Herefords, who chased every fad in the show-ring, except the color black (thankfully). |
