Matt, how was yours able to nurse hobbling around on his knees like that?  On mine both were back at birth, the left leg recovered in a few hours but the right is taking a while. 


It never had a problem nursing. I think it grew accustomed to it and thought that's the way it was. It stayed in the barn opened to a small lot and would run and hop around playing like nothing was wrong. On one hand it was kind of neat to see him so playful but on the other it was when the heck are you going to be normal. I'm sure your splint will speed the process up.

You can look at this experience as maybe in the years to come, when this heifer calves again she will be gentle with you after all the personal interaction and knows you're not the bad guy. :-)
