Driftless SW Wisconsin

Actually Bill, that is exactly what I have done this evening. Calf and heifer are now in the corral on hay, with a bucket of grain and fresh water. I feel the same way you do about calves. I just want to give nature a chance to do her job first.

This is a big calf for a heifer. It took her awhile to lick him dry and there was some question on whether he had sucked yet. So my neighbors and I gave him some colostrum and put both of them in the corral for the evening.

Lots of coyotes howling tonight.  I hate to lose them also, especially after all the work that has gone into them to this point.  Thanks for the comments.
