Unless you're Jewish, tithing really doesn't pertain to you. Tithes were the Levites inheritance instead of land when God divided Isreal and Judea up between the Jewish tribes. Christian churches have always tried to keep people in tithing as a way of "mandatory" funding, but as a rule it simply does not apply to Christians.
