Generally sort with 3 people, 4 works better if we can make it happen on a weekend. Typically sorting calves that way from 1000#'s to finish about once a month, then cut out loads out of that pen each month the day semi needs to go out. Right now we run about 100 head at a time in an area that we can hold them and then run into up to 3 different pens using gates. Wanting to make the area we run calves into wider and put a row of H bunks in to get more bunk space. While we are wanting to make these changes just wanted to see what others were doing and see if we could implement something when we make the pen wider. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.
