| First, the current run could not have been predicted until mid July. Even out my back door where things have been bad all year I thought we would still raise 160 plus national crop. Now it is not going to happen. Then add in Russian production issues and some other factors, and you are looking at our current situation. Anyone that called a run like this six months ago was making an educated guess at best. You have a decent average sale price, its not that bad. Also this market is not over, we will see 6 plus and could test record highs if yields don't improve or SA has real production issues. Quit worrying about what happened and focus on what was learned and get a game plan for the next leg up and capture it.
Second comment, you have to learn the basics of marketing and the instruments that can be used. You need to start that now. Its like taxes, you might still use as tax guy and pay him for services but you need to know the tax code about as well as he does so you know what he is talking about.
