Edgerton MN | I don't think so. My grandpa told me of his neighbors farm that sold for $700/A in 1919. Locally, farms did not sell for that price again until the late '60's. If you remember, those years in the teens were when parity was set. Farming was extremely profitable for 10 years. Then markets crashed in 1920 and 1921 and were horrible all thru the 20's---except they got worse in the 30's. (They didn't pay taxes then either) | |
