Colorblind - 9/21/2010 10:24 I called an elevator a couple years (2008) and contracted some spring wheat. Was busy at the time and didn't realize I never recieved a contract in the mail from them. In the mean time prices about doubled and elevator i sold with had a fire. Harvest rolls around and I remembered making the sell, but never got a formal contract. They are still recovering from the fire and are not taking in any grain. What would you have done in those shoes? I would have called them shortly after the phone conversation to follow up and let them know I had not received my contract yet. I've had that happen a time or two. I write down every sale after I make it via phone and cross it off when the contract is signed. I handle a much smaller volume of contracts than most but it never hurts to be organized.
