I don't base my sales on what anyone on here says and I surely wouldn't dump all my grain in one sale. I do get a feel for where various posters are coming from and use that as one of my ways to gauge the market. Yes, I did start making sales and $3.50. I've scaled up from there and no I don't regret that one bit. I started making sales at a profitable level and keep selling into the market. For me that is just sound marketing and it keeps me in business. All I'm doing is agreeing with Tara that guys who post about good crops on here become the bad guy with backyardities yada yada and that isn't right. Just like the market firms who come up with good yield estimates are labeled not "farmer friendly". Guess what? Their job isn't to be farmer friendly, their job is to do the best that they can to estimate the size of the crop whether that is price friendly or not.
