I keep mine fairly smooth for cleaning. For traction around a waterer or working area you can use a broom on the concrete it will rough it just enogh I did see a neat idea but have never tried it yet . You can wrap tarp straps around your bullfloat to give you lines in your concrete. If you have kids or pets you will get a mark in your concrete also!
