In addition to what these guys are saying on the bunks being on a raised pad make the cement apron plenty wide.


You need a minimum of 10' behind the bunks to be able to get on it with a tractor/loader decent. 12' is better and 14' or 16' works good for cleaning with a 8' bucket and a tractor that has long axles sticking out.


It seems like 90% of the crap ends up about 6' behind the bunks so you want to be able to clean it up easily.

Like others said the cattle won't move the bunks but loader buckets and tractor tires will.
