SESD | We cut 'em. We start calving in Feb. and usually cut mid october so there's not a fly problem. We don't cut the cords, we use a drill device. I know the specific name has been mentioned on here, but I can't think of it. The device twists the cord till it breaks. Very little to no blood loss and calves act like nothing happened, not hunched up walking like they just got kicked in the nuts which seems to happen with banding. | |
