southern MN | Couldn’t remember which year, but that must have been it. Picked ear corn for the beef, we only put in the crib what we would feed. It just didn’t flow or look right. Ears were rubber. Husks wouldn’t come off.
Mid October the coop cut the price of drying in half for a week. I think they were out of corn and no one was harvesting.
I opened up a field to get to a bean field behind it. The load was 36% moisture. Elevator guy said mail the check? I said if there will be any at that moisture?
Those early 90s were something. We had bad river flooding 2 different years, I helped the town sandbagging both of them. I think 93 was in between the flood years. Had some heavy spring rains the one year of flooding, and had very deep and late snowpack the other flooding year.
