Maybe I am reading it wrong, but if the leave were to occur once child is born, then it would make sense to hire the assistant before the birth so the assistant has some idea of how to proceed with absence.
As a society we blame a lot of our children’s bad behavior on a poor family dynamic. Often placing the blame of a lack of a fatherly presence. Yet we also blame a father for taking a leave of absence to develop a strong fatherly bond with a child. To me it would seem we should celebrate those who choose to make the start of a family the number one priority. In fact many states have guaranteed the father this right.
If the research is time sensitive and will fall apart if no one is continuing to do the daily work, then IMHO you should hire the assistant.
Yes yes yes….
And then send both parents to work 60 hrs a week and the kid to day care. The public school, and college to get indoctrinated to a 32 hour work week. Bitch about all the assets and money the guy who worked 3000 hours a year has and scheme how to get it from him. Buy iPads to raise the kids on, and then be thankful dad had 6 weeks as a newborn. And never go to church.
