southern MN | All underground and the tile will blow a hole to the surface if there is enough fall in the tile. Otherwise the water wicks up to the surface and saturates the low ground, until the upper fields are drained.
Here the high ground, or farthest end of tile, drains first.
Once it’s in the tube and flowing, it can build up a pretty good pressure to want to keep going one way or another, once it’s downhill with more pushing behind it it’s going to push somewhere.
