| tough question. if a person knew a reputable person shares is not a bad way. but that being said I'd advise against it.
foresters will get 10 percent. usually though they are kinda in cahoots with the loggers. sometimes getting a tip back which is very common in the industry. they won't tell you that
ultimately you need to get several bids as in at least 4 . a Forester gets exposure through there network. The bids can vary widely. I know of a person who had about 50 walnut trees that had bids range from 12k to 20k to 26k to 38k. my assumption is that when sold the logs fetched at least 70k at the mills. right now unless you have white oak and walnut and high grade other hard wood logs. a lot of trees are left better standing.
