Thumb of Michigan | I sold some trees from a woodlot 5 or 6 years ago. Went through the NRCS on a program, part of the program is hiring a forester. The forester drew up a plan on what gets cut, and I also hired him a year later to sell the wood to be cut. He put out bids, he got a % of the sale, and monitored what actually got cut and how much. In my case, I felt it was all worth it. I didn't have the time or knowledge to watch it.
