It’s a fine line. Most red blooded Americans strive to maximize their earnings, be it a business owner or a W2 employee. It’s the American way and what built this country into the power it is.

The greed comes in when you’re willing to take risks that have a small likelihood of working out, for the chance that if it does, you’ll strike it rich and be the talk of the town. The ego comes into play when it doesn’t work out and you do things like the Stamps, Boersens, etc do to cover up or illegally game the system when they’ve obviously failed.

I don’t blame a farmer wanting to grow from 3k acres to 5k, 5-8, 8-10. It’s when they start doing shady things to keep the boat afloat that I have a problem.
