Mount Upton NY | We let the SCR collars do the recheck. Cows that were checked pregnant at 35 days will automatically get added to the the vet check list if they show any signs of heat on SCR. We put collars on as springers and don't take them off until they get sold. Very few make it to dry off open. The Dairy One manager made a similar visit here trying to sell the milk test but I cant see it paying. Our SCR system is leased and I believe it replaced the need for 2 full time herdsman.
Edited to add: Find a new vet. Yours is wildly expensive.
