There was a lot of luck. Any air movement one way or another would change everything. And even on a calm day, there wound be some shifting of air one way or another in over 4 miles.
Would a calm day be better, or would a day with a steady breeze be better?
If landing a small plane is any indication, a slight steady breeze would be better.
