central - east central Minnesota -

WJKEIGER - 6/20/2022 17:18 In 2015 when we were in Minnesota on a vacation to visit my wife's family, I visited a farmer just south of Ogilvie in east central Minnesota. We made a tour around in his area. One place he showed me was a gravel operation. Pictures below show that the gravel bearing material was near the surface of the land. All the gravel was smaller, smooth rounded shape stones left there by water flow at some time.

That area is the Agate capital of Mn . . ..  There's a long finger that starts north, north east of there and stretches south and south west of there to below Monticello that is know to have many agates with with gravel/rocks . . . . Those piles look like Knife River Corp stock piles for road projects / asphalt. Hope you got some time to look for agates.  ( ~ ;
