Tom would suggest that early deaths are more due to a genetic abnormality in black angus than the hide itself. Underdeveloped heart, organs, etc. possibly due to a shortened gestation as a result of trying to get ever lower birthweights. That and calf-fed being a lot less healthy than yearlings. | |
