I think you're agreeing with me. Loss of sales tax to point of sale of fuel will be loss of income for that area, even if people travel to another area to avoid higher taxes...not avoid no tax. Unless they're travelling to one of the 5 states listed below.

Fuel tax in IL is distributed also to townships to maintain our country roads. We have mostly pretty nice country roads. Maybe we won't in the future. 

Looks like there are only 5 states in US with no tax. Don't you still have property in the SW for overwinter?

Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon don't have sales tax.
